Secondly, I think that without a framework or some real solution people are going to try to re-invent user experience on the web one more time (DHTML became AJAX becomes HTML5 becomes … ?)

don't forget Opera!
and yeah, it's ridiculous… I thought CSS was supposed to solve these problems, not make them worse, but I couldn't tell you how many hours I've wasted, only to reach some compromise that isn't really what I wanted.
