As a family, we\u2019re vaccinated, fully employed, and living a relatively pre-pandemic life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the point of view of those three things &#8211; 2021 was a massive win. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But there\u2019s still a weight to the year that I wasn\u2019t expecting that seems to be just hanging over us. While acknowledging that, and wanting to write about it more, instead I\u2019ll kick off this year\u2019s weekly family updates with a highlight of the things we most enjoyed from 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From Amelia:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Hanging out with her friends &#8211; Louisa, Maelle, and Anya<\/li><li>Being able to go to England for Christmas<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>From Luka:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Hanging out with his pod and going back to school<\/li><li>Playing quarterback for his flag football team<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>From Theo:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Going to school with his friends<\/li><li>Getting to build legos<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>From Micky:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Our trip through California this summer<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>From me:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Being able to spend time with friends and family who then moved away from NYC<\/li><li>Spending time with those who were there and stayed as well<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s to a healthy, happy 2022 for all of us. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the immortal words of Ron Burgundy &#8211; \u201cWell that escalated quickly didn\u2019t it?\u201d I have this desire to write that 2021 didn\u2019t bring the promised relief of 2020, but when I look at it objectively that isn\u2019t true.
