You started school last August, and you&#8217;re getting ready to &#8220;graduate&#8221;. We&#8217;ve moved house, travelled across the US, met elephant seals, learned to communicate, did potty training, and so much more.<\/p>\n<p>You hate to sleep. Especially alone. In fact, you weren&#8217;t sleeping through the night until just recently. And breaking that pattern was so incredibly difficult.<\/p>\n<p>Your favorite songs were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Anything by Miley Cyrus but especially &#8220;Wrecking Ball&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Anything from Frozen but especially &#8220;Let it Go&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>ABCD<\/li>\n<li>Old McDonald had a farm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Your best friend could be any of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lilah (from school and soccer)<\/li>\n<li>Lucy Green<\/li>\n<li>Luka (you guys can&#8217;t stand to be apart&#8230; or together)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Your favorite activities were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Gym class every Saturday morning<\/li>\n<li>Swimming<\/li>\n<li>Going to the zoo<\/li>\n<li>The Pet Store on 31st and Judah<\/li>\n<li>Scooting in the park<\/li>\n<li>Hanging out with Doruk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We travelled to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>North Carolina (twice)<\/li>\n<li>Myrtle Beach (and we&#8217;ll never do that again)<\/li>\n<li>Pescadero over Christmas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Your\u00c2\u00a0major life events were<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Starting school in August 2013<\/li>\n<li>Moving to a new house in February 2014<\/li>\n<li>Learning to scooter around the neighborhood<\/li>\n<li>Surgery in May to close up another hernia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Developmentally you continue to amaze us. Your speech is fantastic (even though you can&#8217;t hit a pronoun to save your life). You&#8217;re athletically so talented. Fast. Coordinated. But you&#8217;re still a bit shy around other kids. You&#8217;re much better with adults.<\/p>\n<p>You love Luka so much.<\/p>\n<p>And you give the best kisses that any dad could ask for.<\/p>\n<p>Happy birthday darling Amelia. When you&#8217;re finally old enough to read this, I just hope you&#8217;ll still curl up in my arms, and fall asleep on my shoulder, and not be too big to be my baby girl.<\/p>\n<p>I love you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Darling Amelia.
